Risk-optimised growth with clear focus

The construction industry is responsible for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions to date. Political and social pressure on the industry is growing to counteract the negative environmental impacts emanating from the real estate industry. In contrast to Scandinavia, wood is still being neglected in this country. Yet wood as a building material has a decisive advantage over all other building materials: it grows back. If one considers the entire life cycle of a building, wood constructed houses outperform their counterparts made of non-renewable building materials, especially in terms of their low greenhouse potential. Wood constructed properties reduce the CO2 load of the earth’s atmosphere compared to conventional properties.

Wood stores climate-damaging emissions and requires less energy than most conventional building materials to be converted into a building product, as well as possessing excellent thermal insulation properties. Even in the event of a demolition, wood can be reused to produce other wood products. All this shows: Wood is the building material of the future.

This is the reason why we develop and construct our residential properties and city quarters, using a resource-efficient wood construction technology. In doing so, we follow the sustainability criteria we have defined with respect to the construction of properties, as well as the purchase of all raw materials, goods, and services, which forms the basic framework of our entrepreneurial activities. With the innovative use of the natural product "wood", we enable, with our residential urban quarters, a strong reduction of CO2 pollution in the earth’s atmosphere, as well as long-term binding of CO2 (1 m3 wood binds 1 ton of CO2).

All our buildings comply with at least one of the recognized sustainability standards, such as the Gold Standard requirements as introduced by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The buildings are so-called plus-energy buildings, as they generate more energy than what actually they consume. Through cogeneration plants, we achieve a minimum energy requirement for heating and domestic hot water. Through photovoltaics and geothermal energy, we achieve regenerative generation of electricity.

Our core business is residential housing construction for institutional investors. We minimise the risks of residential development by selling our projects, through forward transactions, even before construction begins. Our goal is to create affordable, green, as well as high-quality housing, to provide the "middle of our society" with the opportunity to rent affordable and at the same time sustainable housing.

We have applied the combination of innovative design and technology with sustainable resources to the construction process. Already in the planning phase, we work closely with the construction management and develop concepts together. This reduces our cost and development risk and is the basic prerequisite for minimising our impact on the environment. Due to our high degree of prefabrication and our efficient construction methods, our projects show a high degree of planning certainty and a shortened construction period. As a result, we can let our properties much sooner than with conventional construction methods.
